Connecting with the Youth of our Cities
Connecting with the Youth of Our Cities
What does the graffiti in our city really mean?
What trends are occurring among the kids in our community? In the state?
How do we meet the multicultural needs of our young citizens?
When are the many cultures in our city in conflict? How do we deal with that?
What are the opportunities to collaborate with our neighboring cities to address the needs of our youth?
What resources are available to our city to assist in the development of programs for our kids?
What successful programs have other cities developed?
These are some of the questions that lead to the SCA conference "Connecting with the Youth of our Cities" scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Mercer Island Community Center. In response, the Education Committee of SCA has planned a day of information exchange and networking opportunities for electeds, staff and the kids in your communities against a backdrop of experience, data, and examples of success.
SCA challenges cities to each bring young citizens to enrich the discussions. Their input is valuable and a day of dialogue may be worth weeks or months of meetings.
SCA thanks its co-sponsors: The City of Mercer Island and the Association of WA Cities.
REGISTER QUICKLY. The facility capacity is 150 people.
